CAC Statistics

 

Every hour of every day, there are allegations of child abuse and five children die as a result of abuse or neglect each day.
Child abuse is an issue in every county and community throughout Tennessee.

Program Statistics
During our 2015-2016 fiscal year, the Children’s Advocacy Center for the 31st Judicial District and our Child Protective Investigative Team partners investigated 683 reports of child maltreatment within the 31st Judicial District.  The severe abuse allegations perpetrated on these children were identified as:

86% of the alleged abusers were known by the child or family members (non-strangers)

1490 children have received comprehensives services through CAC31 since July 2006, when we started utilizing a data tracking system.
72% reported as Sexual Abuse
89% Alleged Perpetrator known by family

• 683 reports of child maltreatment to the Tennessee Child Abuse Hotline (calendar year 2015)
• 184 cases referred to CAC31
• 161 Forensic Interviews of suspected child abuse victims and/or witnesses
• 262 Individual Trauma-Focused Therapy Sessions
• 1582 Victim-Family Advocacy Interactions
• 109 Crisis Counseling
• 60 Criminal Justice Support and Advocacy Cases
• 113 Information and Referrals to Community Resources
• 115 Criminal Compensation Education and Assistance
• 13 Child Protective Investigative Team Case Review meetings and 5 Team trainings
• 10 cases referred for Prosecution
• 215 Children received Back to School Supplies
• 21 Community Events for Prevention Education or Awareness Training
• 6751 children received personal body safety education through classroom interaction and assembly presentations
• 116 Adults were educated as Stewards of Children
• 539 Warren & Van Buren County School and Medical Personnel were provided continuing education
• 337 Warren & Van Buren County Pre-K Parents were educated in Child Abuse Prevention
